Think critically about what each “function” (filter, lens, prism) might mean for this specific issue, and any criteria for deciding which function might be considered valid. NOTE: It is clearly understood that this topic is controversial within society and the church. It is chosen in part because it IS current and controversial, but also because the Bible has much to say about sexuality and because wise, discerning interpretation of biblical texts and how they inform contemporary discipleship is so important.
