This means that you will need to be basing your blog on your pitch, with sufficient explanation and evidence to demonstrate your argument, while also making sure to not repeat the same ideas that you have already written about in this course. My blog pitch will be about comparing the idea of hierarchy in the series Harry Potter, as well as the Medieval Times. These are comparable because in Harry Potter you have diﬁerent classes of people, examples being Muggles, Half-Blood’s, Full-Bloods, etc. These compare with the classes of the Medieval Times very well because they also had these types of classes, examples being Knight, King, Peasant, Lord, etc. ﬁothoﬁthese hierarchies signify a type of prejudice against “lower class” individuals in both time eras and topics which is why it is such an amazing comparison. They also have some individuals that are able to break the stereotypes and be respected and climb the ranks that they were born into, such as Hermione Granger in Hany Potter, and in Medieval Times an equal representation would be a lower-class individual being knighted for doing a good deed like saving the Wtargeted audience is people who are somewhat educated on both topics and are willing to learn more. The sources I will be using for this blog will be all the Harry Potter books and movies, as well as in class slides and presentations given to students thus far. I will also be using an article written on Medieval Times hierarchy by m Daiiy. read about throughout the semester. Your blog assignment will be to write a short comparison of one element of Harry Potter (characters, setting, beasts, items etc.) to one comparable element of medieval culture in a manner that is accessible for first year students. The purpose of this assignment is to practice research, essay writing, as well as your ability to explain complicated ideas for a general audience. The assignment will therefore take the shape of a three-page blog post which should be accessible in its language and ideas, with the idea that it should be targeting a general audience. You can include visual elements in your blog post, however you are being evaluated on your writing, so do not go overboard with images!
